This rare, vintage Mid Century Modern swivel rocking lounge chair is an original, authentic chair designed by Milo Baughman, one of our favorite designers (see our blog post). The chair is in excellent condition, it’s hard to believe this was manufactured in 1968! The chair has not been altered, there have been no repairs, the fabric is original from the day it was manufactured. The chair is a stunning design from every angle! It’s not only a piece to admire, it’s unbelievably comfortable too! It rocks and swivels. This really is a chair you will want to sit in everyday!

Thayer Coggin Inc. was very helpful in sending me a scanned page from their Thayer Coggin catalog dated 1968. I was so excited to receive authentication that this is in fact an original Milo Baughman design. Others designed for Thayer Coggin, so acquiring this information was a must, especially for a collector.

There are other vintage barrel swivel rockers designed by Baughman that are far more common, however, finding this particular design is rare! This swivel lounge chair has a unique flair to the arms that isn’t found on his other designs. Thayer Coggin is not currently manufacturing this style swivel chair and has not re-released it since its first release date in 1968. The company catalog shows this design as #812. Currently they label their chairs with names, not numbers. This particular chair was designed before their their products were named.
