Lane First Edition Cedar Hope Chest

Lane First Edition Cedar Hope Chest

This item had SOLD!

This vintage Mid Century Cedar Hope Chest is from Lane’s First Edition line, a very desirable and highly sought-after design from the Mid Century era.

These chests were often presented as a wedding gift. This was used for storing all the keepsakes and fond memories of the baby’s firsts, blankets, anniversary cards, photos and memorable items that you wanted to keep safe. This is where you would store it all away to later pull out and reminisce over in later years.

Cosmetically this is a remarkable piece, no significant wear to mention. You can expect normal age-related wear such a small surface scuffs and slight indentations, nothing to detract from the overall appearance or structure of the piece.

Although Lane cedar chests have been in homes for decades they have had safety concerns dealing with children climbing inside and locking themselves in with the old style locks that are on all cedar chests manufactured prior to 1987. There were incidences of suffocation inside chests.  Lane has lock replacements available for all chests manufactured before 1987. I have requested an upgrade and this trunk will have a new one installed for the buyer.

Style No. and serial number are shown in photos, be sure to click and scroll through all 10 photos.
