Mid Century Modern Finn Juhl Style Nightstands Sold by John Stuart For Mount Airy
These nightstands are being sold as a set of two. Constructed from walnut, these Mid Century 3 drawer Bedside Tables are in beautiful restored condition. The drawers feature solid brass double-ball hardware. These are showstoppers, a timeless style that can easily blend with any decor or furniture design. The nightstands are designed beautifully on a recessed base that is supported by gorgeous round tapered legs. The four leg supports suspend the three drawers to convey the “floating ” effect making these unique from so many other styles today.
Designed and retailed by John Stuart for Mount Airy Furniture Co. in North Carolina circa 1950. This design is from their “Contempora” line, John Stuart was a high-end furniture importer who specialized in Danish and American designer pieces. This iconic style is often attributed to the Danish designer Finn Juhl. Although he may have influenced this fabulous design, there is no proof that he is linked to it.

These were constructed with solid woods (a heavy solid structure) and finished with a thick bleached walnut veneer. The structure is solid. all the drawers are dovetailed and glide nicely. Both nightstands have been professionally refurbished and are showroom ready. The brass hardware has been polished and looks new!
As with any vintage piece, you can expect some minor age related wear. These display minimal wear, all flaws were repaired to bring you a beautifully restored furnishing, you will not be disappointed! You’re getting a bonus, “LOOKS NEW”!
