MID CENTURY BROYHILL BRASILIA ROOM DIVIDER WALL UNIT SHELVING
This Iconic piece was designed for Broyhill by Melbourne F. Smith Jr. in 1964. This divider is from a vintage Broyhill line known as the “Brasilia” collection. The Brasilia design was inspired by structures like the Palacio Do Planalto that were designed and completed by Oscar Niemeyer in 1960, the architecture of the city of Brasilia – the newly created capital of Brazil. Be sure to look at the provided links like MCMdaily or this fabulous write up by Kyle Davis if you are interested in the Brasilia collection and the story behind it.
This room divider is a stunning piece, it’s constructed of walnut and pecan. This truly is an early all American Mid Century design that still appeals to the eye today. When I see this, I see a minimalist’s dream. It gives you a place to tuck away things you want hidden and yet, display your memorable treasures. Honestly, it just has a way of making things look so nice and tidy, giving the room a nice crisp finish. You will fall absolutely head over heels for this piece, this is one that won’t disappoint!

Very good used condition. As with anything vintage you can expect age related wear. The top surface of the lower base has been professionally refinished. The remaining exterior of the top and lower sections have been thouroughly cleaned. We tended to any imperfections that stood out, as well as finishing the exterior with Briwax (our favorite professional grade wax). The cabinet is structurally sound, no breaks or repairs.
